Volvik staff player Christine Song won the Symetra Tour’s Garden City Charity Classic playing Volvik’s new VIBE golf ball.
The victory is Song’s 5th Symetra Tour win, three of which have been with a Volvik golf ball. She recently switched to the 65-compression VIBE, a Urethane 3-piece construction tour ball for every swing speed due to its soft compression and low driver spin/pro level greenside spin.
This is the first professional victory for the VIBE after making its LPGA Tour debut in May at the Volvik Championship and its Symetra Tour debut in August.
Song made a 35-footer for birdie on hole 17 to seal the Garden City Charity Classic on Saturday at Buffalo Dunes. Song posted a 3-under, 69 and finished the three-day event at 13-under, 203 to win by two shots.
“It feels awesome,” said Song. “I feel really blessed and I feel that I had some golf still in me.”
Song picks up her fifth career Symetra Tour victory and earned a first-place check of $15,000. Song, who has played in 16 LPGA Tour events this season and only four Symetra Tour tournaments, moves up from 103rd to 37th on the Volvik Race for the Card money list. She has now earned $20,124 in 2016.
