CHASKA, MN, USA – (Sept. 27, 2016) GOLFZON (www.golfzonsimulator.com), a global leader in golf simulators, began Ryder Cup week by donating a state-of-the-art simulator to PGA REACH, the philanthropic arm of the PGA of America, for use by the Minneapolis location for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The PGA of America made the announcement on Monday at Chaska Par 30 course, located adjacent to Hazeltine National Golf Club, site of this week’s Ryder Cup. Derek Sprague, the President of the PGA of America, spoke on Monday morning to open its Veterans & Family Golf Clinic and recognized GOLFZON YUWON GROUP Chairman Young Chan Kim for the company’s contribution.
“Our friends at GOLFZON have been really supportive for what we’ve tried to do from a military perspective and have been gracious enough to donate a simulator in a location where our veterans can enjoy it year round,” PGA REACH Senior Director Scott Kmiec said before Chairman Kim, GOLFZON executive Tommy Lim and PGA of America President Derek Sprague, PGA of America Honorary President Allen Wronowski, PGA HOPE’s Chris Nowak and 2002 PGA Championship winner Rich Beem gathered for photos and mingled with veterans.
The gift was received by PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), a therapeutic program to aid in the rehabilitation process for disabled veterans and the flagship military program of PGA REACH. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is partnering with PGA REACH to bring a specialized golf program to disabled veterans in PGA Sections across the United States.
“GOLFZON is proud to make the donation of this golf simulator to PGA REACH and the Department of Veterans Affairs location in Minneapolis,” GOLFZON YUWON GROUP Chairman Kim said. “We hope the veterans enjoy the golf simulator and that they are inspired to play golf. The donation is part of the long-standing philosophy of our company to help others in need and by making golf enjoyable for everyone.”
The GOLFZON golf simulator will remain in place in the Minneapolis area following the Ryder Cup at a site to be determined by PGA REACH and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
