Stamford-based start-up presented 2016 Marcum Tech Top 40 Award by
Connecticut Technology Council
(STAMFORD, CT) – Arccos – maker of golf’s only GPS + Live Shot Tracking + Tour Analytics platform – has been named to the 2016 Marcum Tech Top 40, which annually honors Connecticut’s fastest-growing technology companies.
Presented by the Connecticut Technology Council at a gala event on September 22, the award spotlights leaders in six industry sectors, with Arccos qualifying in the software category. Arccos was also named an Accelerator Company, which recognizes that achieved revenues of $3 million+ in less than three years. Widely heralded as one of golf’s most innovative and beneficial technologies, the Arccos Golf system first launched at Apple Stores in late 2014 and is now available at golf and sporting goods retailers throughout North America.
“This distinction speaks to the rapid adoption of our products and prominent place within Connecticut’s thriving technology sector,” says Sal Syed, Arccos CEO and Co-Founder. “It’s a testament to our team’s focus on creating innovative technologies that help golfers of all abilities play better and have more fun.”
Widely heralded as one of the game’s most beneficial technologies, the flagship Arccos Golf ($299.99) system is endorsed by FedExCup Champion Billy Horschel and was awarded the 2016 Golf Digest Editors’ Choice Award for Best Game Analyzer. Combining Automatic Shot Tracking + GPS 2.0 + Tour Analytics, Arccos Golf automatically delivers info on distances hit, club averages, driving accuracy, greens in regulation, sand saves, putts and more. Post-round, players and their instructors can gain valuable insights on overall performance via deep dives into statistics, past rounds and more.
Developed in conjunction with golf’s most renowned statistician, Peter Sanders, Tour Analytics draws from his work with PGA Tour star Zach Johnson and many others. It automatically breaks down a players’ handicap into five key components – driving, approach, chipping, sand game and putting – helping golfers:
• Gain insight into what every shot means
• Understand exactly how each part of their game contributes to scoring
• Explore comparative data in each of the five components from golfers with the same handicap
• Evaluate patterns across their entire golf history, supporting refinement of on-course tactics
Earlier this year, the company launched Arccos Driver ($79.99), a new performance tracking and live competition system that delivers real-time data for tee shot distances, fairways hit and more. The single-sensor automatically detects each drive, then uses a player’s smart phone to record second shot position. Other features include the King of the Hole competition. This turns any par 4 or par 5 in the world into a virtual long drive competition with a leaderboard that’s updated in real time.
