First Tee members and families jump at chance to play a few holes
Minneapolis, MN: Lone Tree Golf Club in Chandler, AZ is a Quick.golf pilot course and the first to host programming classes with The First Tee.
“Last week, we sent an email to The First Tee of Phoenix members and families who attend classes at our facility, and the immediate response was overwhelming,” said PGA Director of Player Development Eric Kulinna. “Within an hour they were ready to play a few holes, and we received responses to the email that included comments like, ‘So cool! We are excited to try this’, ‘Thank you for the information. It was just what we were looking for,’ ‘This is a fabulous offering and promotion. We will definitely be taking advantage of this opportunity,’ and ‘That’s the best idea ever!'”
As a certified coach with The First Tee, and the site coordinator for all the classes offered at Lone Tree, Kulinna says that getting PLAYer and Par level members playing regularly on the golf course is one of the key factors contributing to the member’s enjoyment and engagement with The First Tee programming. He continues, “We think Quick.golf offers adults and budding junior golfers a unique opportunity to come out and play a few holes together whenever time allows, without having to pay for a full round of golf. At our facility, members of The First Tee of Phoenix play free whenever they are accompanied by a paid adult. So, since the per-hole fee is just $3, which includes a cart, using Quick.golf is a great way for parents and grandparents to see their kids in action on the course, rather than just on the practice range. We’re excited that this option is now available for all of Lone Tree’s customers, but I see huge possibilities for any other facility that deploys Quick.golf as a way to enhance their junior golf programming and encourage families to play golf together.”
“We welcome Lone Tree as one of our pilot courses, and applaud Eric for his vision of offering it to First Tee families,” says Quick.golf co-founder Harvey Silverman. “The number one complaint of golfers is they don’t have time to play as much golf as they’d like. This is especially true for families that love golf and want to play together. The Quick.golf web app tells golfers when Quick.golf is available at local courses, and all they have to do is show up and play a few holes. They are charged only for the holes they play, all done through the web app just like Uber or Lyft. It is very cool, convenient, and a perfect way for First Tee kids and families to spend some time together on a golf course.”
