Tour operator Golfbreaks.com rewards one of its most loyal clients with the trip of a lifetime to the Birthplace of Golf, St. Andrews, Scotland.
CHARLESTON, SC (October 2016) – International tour operator Golfbreaks.com counts Peter Bush as one of the company’s Top 10 customers of all time.
Little wonder why. Bush, an Englishman and retired Insurance and Investment consultant, has long served as the “Hog Secretary” of PIGS International. This transcontinental golfing organization has been in existence since 1953. The group gathers to play for the “Styder Cup” every two years.
In as such, Bush has made nearly 30 bookings with Golfbreaks.com to all corners of the globe, with groups ranging from two to 78 people.
“I organize all the monthly golf days, the mixed away weekends and overseas tours,” said Bush. “We enjoy great camaraderie and bonhomie especially with our American counterparts. Since the first Styder Cup in Ohio 1994 we have stayed with each other during the years and visited other countries. In October, I will be visiting four couples in Sandestin, Fla.”
Golfbreaks.com recently thanked Bush for his loyalty with a complimentary four-night trip for four to St. Andrews, Scotland – the birthplace of the game. Bush took his partner, Hazel, and another couple, Trevor and Jenny Franks. The quartet played not only The Old Course at St. Andrews, but also Kingsbarns and Castle.
Bush said the trip to St. Andrews was something he and his group will never forget.
“Golfbreaks.com gave us a wonderful Old Course experience, with great style and nothing seemed too much,” Bush said. “We received lovely gifts of a shoe bag, cap, balls and head cover, along with photos on the first tee at The Old Course, which added to the enjoyment.”
Despite some inclement weather on the finishing holes at The Old Course, Bush recalls nothing but positive thoughts.
“I went in six bunkers on The Old Course including Hell Bunker and managed to exit in one each time,” he said. “The caddie told us the last three holes would play long and as par 5s due to the driving rain and wind and he was right. The 18th hole, I was on the green in two and because of the greens being soaked, I three putted.
“I therefore removed my cap and shook hands,” he said. “But I didn’t throw my ball at the rain coated Japanese and assorted nationalities watching!”
Bush is currently preparing for next year’s Styder XII to be played at the Vale of Glamorgan Resort in Wales over three matches. At the moment, 30 Americans are visiting in July next year for both Wales and Ireland. “Wales will be the largest as it will be 80 persons,” Bush said. “Not all golfers as some of the wives are non-golfers.”
Of course, Golfbreaks.com is orchestrating all of the fun.
“I have dealt with Golfbreaks.com since their early days and used them ever since,” Bush said. “I have a good relationship with them and have no reason to involve other companies. Golfbreaks.com excels at having competitive quotes. They have good administration, which has been enhanced with technology over the years – including individual, dedicated operatives for each holiday. They are always wonderful to deal with.”
