Scottsdale, Ariz. (October 10, 2016) – Manchester Country Club, a private country club in Bedford, New Hampshire, announced today that it has been awarded the prestigious “Distinguished Gold Club of the World” award, as determined by the annual Distinguished Clubs of the World award program conducted by BoardRoom magazine, one of the most respected trade publications serving private clubs.
BoardRoom magazine’s Distinguished Clubs award program uses a club-specific rating system that recognizes the club, its management, and its staff based on a proprietary criteria and evaluation process that distills and measures a club’s Member Experience. As such, the rating system used by Distinguished Clubs is different from any that has come before, and with it, the private club industry now has the means to identify the top private clubs based on the most important aspect: Member Experience. Manchester Country Club joins the company of other premiere clubs recognized as Distinguished Clubs, including The Golf Club at Turner Hill, Ipswich, Mass.; Bald Peak Colony Club, Melvin Village, New Hampshire; and Nashawtuc Country Club, Concord, Mass.
“It’s an honor to be recognized as a ‘Distinguished Gold Club’ by BoardRoom magazine,” said Brian Kelley, general manager, Manchester Country Club. “This award is special because it focuses on our members and their experiences here at Manchester Country Club. Our team takes great pride in providing outstanding service and exceptional golf for our members to create and share lasting memories.”
“Member Experience” as defined by Distinguished Clubs, is that special combination of “Qualities” that a private club provides its members. It is not just the quality of service, of the facilities, or of the product provided, it is also the quality of the staff and of the management, as well as the overall club governance they deliver. The most important quality, however, is the quality of the intangible. While difficult to measure, the latter is comprised of those magic moments experienced, the members befriended, the memorable events and famous tournaments attended, as well as the club traditions, history, and heritage proudly recognized.
“We’d like to congratulate Manchester Country Club for earning Distinguished Gold Club status,” said John Fornaro, Publisher of BoardRoom magazine, “Special recognition also goes out to their General Manager, Brian Kelley, as well as the club’s Board of Directors, its department heads and entire staff for their efforts in providing an excellent member experience.”
Manchester Country Club is located 50 miles north of Boston, Massachusetts on 116-acres. The club boasts an award-winning Donald Ross designed golf course built in 1923; a Golf House that includes a golf shop, locker rooms, a practice facility and a golf simulator room; and a beautiful clubhouse that features multiple dining options and is perfect for weddings, receptions and corporate meetings or events. Manchester Country Club has been professionally managed by Troon Privé since 2009. The Club is member-owned and governed by the member-elected Board of Directors. In 2013, Manchester Country Club completed its largest-ever renovation and has since earned multiple awards designating Manchester Country Club as one of America’s top clubs. The all-encompassing $8 million project included renovation, restoration and reorganization of MCC’s historic structure. The result of the renovation is a spectacular New Hampshire venue for weddings and events, and a premier New England country club updated with all-new amenities.
