Golf Academy of America Alumni Association has opened nominations for its inaugural Top 25 Teachers List.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Oct. 14, 2016 – Golf Academy of America has announced a search for the Top 25 Teachers in the golf industry. The purpose of the award is to recognize top Golf Academy of America alumni who have found tremendous success in golf instruction, teaching and coaching, a specialization within an industry that offers a variety of career tracks.
Graduates of the largest and longest-running two-year golf college in the world can nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else. Those nominated will be evaluated on 12 criteria, including:
• Teaching awards and articles published
• Student portfolio, results and ratings
• Letters of recommendation
• Number of years teaching
• Annual hours of teaching
• Annual hours in teaching-related activities
• Employment history
• Innovative teaching programs
• Use of technology (i.e. teaching software, apps, launch monitors, social media, blogs)
• Service on committees (i.e. Education Committees, PGA Section)
• Growth of game and volunteerism
• Golf Academy of America graduate

Nominations are now open; those nominated must submit an official application by Oct. 31, 2016. The official Top 25 Teachers Awards will be announced later this fall. The nomination form can be found here.
