CHICAGO, October 16, 2016- In the PGA TOUR season opener, Wilson Advisory Staff member Brendan Steele (@BrendanSteele) birdied his way to his second career PGA TOUR victory, shooting a 7-under par 65 at the Safeway Open in Napa, Calif.
Steele closed out his final round with back-to-back-to-back birdies, charging back from four shots back to finish the tournament 18-under par, one shot better than Patton Kizzire.
“I am very pleased with my performance over the past year with the FG Tour 100 Irons,” commented Steele, who joined the Wilson Advisory Staff in January of 2015, switching to the FG Tour 100 irons and FG Tour PMP wedge. “It has been a great experience playing a role on the Wilson Advisory Staff to help develop the F or “feel player” irons, and I am really excited about what’s coming with the FG Tour V6 irons.”
Steele’s consistent performance led to his first victory of the 2016-2017 season, coming after four top-ten finishes last year.
