(Chatham, NJ) – VPAR (www.vpar.com) – the award-winning technology company and pioneer of Live Golf Scoring – announces the release of an Android version of the popular free app.
Offering a new interface that is customized for the Android platform, the latest version comes with a redesigned digital scorecard, simple round setup, pinpoint GPS for 30,000+ courses and intuitive stats-tracking.
The app also showcases a brand new tool along with two new features that recently debuted on iOS platforms:
• (NEW for Android) Stats Tracking: Input your stats as you play to monitor your performance for greens in regulation and driving accuracy – see where your strengths or weaknesses lie.
• Challenges: App users can compete with friends or fellow VPAR golfers across the country or around the world. The “Challenges” tab enables entry into a diverse range of tournaments and competitions, giving golfers the excitement of seeing where they stand on live leaderboards.
• The Feed: Sharing experiences, keeping track of friends’ scores and reading the latest golf news in a personalized newsfeed makes VPAR more interactive than ever.
“Adding to the game of golf and connecting golfers into an immersive, competitive experience is our primary mission,” says VPAR President and Managing Director Jason Stoop. “There are about 1.4 billion Android users worldwide, that’s an enormous audience that can now join the VPAR community.”

About VPAR
VPAR recreates the excitement of a professional tournament by allowing golfers to input scores on handheld devices and create live leaderboard experiences on the course, in the clubhouse and online. Last year, VPAR’s Live Scoring Tournament Service was used to score thousands of outings worldwide for organizations like Audi, Shoprite, The Ronald McDonald House and the New York Yankees.
As the world’s No. 1 golf app and winner of the ‘Best Sports App’ at the Sports Technology Awards, VPAR is the most comprehensive digital scorecard. Any golfer can set up a tournament amongst friends, create live leaderboards on the course or use the GPS and course planner feature at over 30,000 courses worldwide. The new personal newsfeed allows golfers to share their success and experiences with friends or keep up to date with the latest golf news, even when they’re not on the course.
VPAR recently unveiled its Tournament Management System, a web-based platform for PGA Professionals and club managers that enhances golfers’ experiences, streamlines operations, increases course revenue and analyzes data for tournaments, outings and member events.
