BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The No. 1 graphite iron shafts in golf, SteelFiber shafts by Aerotech Golf delivered the power of graphite and stability of steel this week, winning the Safeway Open on the PGA Tour and capturing Top 10 money on the Champions Tour, Japan Tour and Ladies European Tour.
The Safeway Open champion finished strong playing SteelFiber i110 shafts in two hybrid clubs, and shooting 67-71-67-65 (270) for his second PGA TOUR victory. Meanwhile, SteelFiber hybrid shafts also delivered a T7 finish at the SAS Championship on the Champions Tour; and SteelFiber i95 irons claimed a T10 finish in the Japan Open on the Japan Golf Tour. On the Ladies European Tour, the young 2016 rookie sensation took sole possession of third place at the Xiamen International on the Ladies European Tour, playing SteelFiber J-Series graphite irons.
“The unique performance benefits of SteelFiber graphite iron shafts allows players to play their best for longer times and to finish strong,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “”SteelFiber shafts delivery shot consistency and increased distance but, unlike traditional steel shafts, SteelFiber also reduces the risk of injury, lessens aggravation of existing injuries and decreases player fatigue. This is an innovative technology that delivers true game-changing results for players of all skill levels and ability.”
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
During the 2015 season, SteelFiber shafts delivered seven wins – three on the PGA Tour and two each on the Champions and LPGA Tours. The previous year was equally successful with SteelFiber chalking up five wins on the PGA TOUR and two more on the Champions Tour. Players with SteelFiber shafts routinely rank high on the PGA Money List, Official World Golf Rankings and the FedEx Cup Season Points. In 2013, for example, SteelFiber players ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points and ended overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List.
