St. George, Utah (October 24, 2016) – Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club in St. George, Utah, recently celebrated its 20th anniversary with a cocktail reception, dinner party and fireworks display. The 20th anniversary celebration was held on Entrada’s event lawn and featured a cocktail reception with Native American ceremonial dancers and a string quartet. The dinner program included speeches from Entrada’s development team and Club General Manger David Hall, a champagne toast and a video message from Entrada course designer and golf legend Johnny Miller. The evening was capped off with a beautiful fireworks finale setoff over the practice range.
“This was an amazing event that celebrated a place that means so much to this community,” said David Hall, General Manager, Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club. “Over the last 20 years, Entrada and St. George have grown together. Our 780 members are a huge part of this community and help make St. George such an attractive place to call home.”
Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club was founded by visionaries Brent Beesley, Hank Isaksen, Brooks Pace, Rick & Sherri Prince, Pravin Bakranian, and Robert Redford. Several of Redford’s famous movies were filmed within minutes of Entrada, like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Electric Horseman and Jeremiah Johnson. The community and golf course opened in 1996, with the Sports & Fitness Center opening in 2000 and the clubhouse in 2005. The club became private in 2006.
Entrada, also fictitiously known as Lava Springs Country Club, was made famous when Disney chose Entrada to be the location for the filming of High School Musical 2, which took place in spring of 2007. The August 2007 premiere was seen by a total of over 18 million viewers in the United States which is almost 10 million more than its predecessor, making it the highest-rated Disney Channel movie of all time. The movie’s stars stayed at the Inn at Entrada and many Entrada residents were extras in the movie.
