Stars of television’s “Whose Line is it Anyway?” will bring laughs to closing celebration audience
Lawrence, Kan. (Oct. 25, 2016) – Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood, stars of the comedic television show “Whose Line is it Anyway?” will bring their improvisational style to the final day of the 2017 Golf Industry Show (GIS) in Orlando. The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), host of the industry’s largest annual trade show, made the announcement on behalf of its 17,500 members and the Closing Celebration, presented in partnership with John Deere Golf. The 2017 GIS theme, “Making the Turn,” highlights the scope of educational, exhibitor and networking opportunities available Feb. 4-9 at the GCSAA Golf Championships, the GCSAA Education Conference and the industry trade show. Many of the sessions will focus on key management issues, ranging from water conservation to advocacy. GCSAA will also host marquee events to recognize its annual award winners, including Paul R. Latshaw, the 2017 recipient of the Old Tom Morris Award. The two men are an unlikely team whose spontaneous humor has earned them national recognition. Sherwood spent many years in Santa Fe, N.M., while Mochrie is a Scotland native who spent most of his career in British Columbia, Canada. When they were cast for “Whose Line is it Anyway?” the pair formed a hilarious bond.
The two comedians, who have played to sold-out venues across the country, have no set script for their performances. They rely on their sharp wit to create an interactive, fun-filled show that includes audience participation.
“We like to describe ourselves as two smart people acting stupidly,” said Sherwood, the younger of the two. We’ll invite superintendents on stage to be part of the fun, and in the end they all will have wished they had the chance to be on stage. There will be plenty of laughs.”
“We look forward to entertaining on the road with our show because we get to be goofy and childish without responsible adults worrying about us,” added Mochrie.
