HARTFORD – Tuesday, November 8, 2016 – Swing by Swing Golf Inc., the golf mobile application and entertainment company, announced today that it has launched SwingCast, the world’s first golf-focused video gaming channel. SwingCast will be broadcast live on Twitch, a live streaming video platform owned by Amazon (www.twitch.tv/swingcast), and will stream more than 100 hours of live golf video gaming entertainment each month. The channel has agreements with several golf and gaming social media personalities that maintain more than 500,000 followers across Instagram and Twitter. SwingCast will focus on golf video games played on XBOX One, PlayStation 4, PCs and mobile smartphones.
“We’ve created a large user base and audience from our top-rated GPS & Scorecard app, Clubhouse website and e-newsletter platforms, but we felt it was time to create golf entertainment for the 55 million Americans who play golf video games, 4-of-5 of which do not play golf on the course,” said CEO Charles Cox. “We’ve partnered with some of the most recognized personalities in golf social media to grow this channel and are very excited about the engagement SwingCast can generate for its audience.”
The channel’s roster of “on-air talent” includes social media luminaries such as former ESPN and Fox Sports contributor Rebecca Grant; golf social media star Karin Hart; and the two top golf trick shot artists in the world, Ryan Rustand and Josh Kelley. Audience members can watch the broadcasts live across any device via Twitch’s website or Twitch’s smartphone app as well as chat live with the channel’s talent while on-the-air. The broadcasts also will be archived on SwingCast’s YouTube channel.
