(SAN JOSE DEL CABO, Mexico) – Querencia, the private golf club and community of Los Cabos – announces its Tom Fazio golf course ranks seventh in Golfweek’s “Best Caribbean and Mexico Courses” list for 2017.
This prominent showing in Golfweek’s annual rankings also showcases Querencia as the top private golf course in Mexico and the third-best in the country – placing it in elite company alongside some of the most exclusive layouts in this category.
The Caribbean and Mexico rankings originate from Golfweek’s annual compilation of America’s Best Courses, published since 1997. More than 350 raters evaluate courses on the basis of 10 criteria, providing a final score calculated through a statistically rigorous process. The news was released in the publication’s annual “Ultimate Guide” to subscribers and is available on golfweek.com.
“Being selected by Golfweek’s esteemed panel as the top private course in Mexico is truly an honor,” says Jorge Carrera, Chief Executive Officer of Querencia. “Our staff does a remarkable job of upholding Querencia’s championship caliber conditioning and five-star service standards, making it an amazing place to live and play. Our members and residents, who are the ambassadors of the golf club and community, are proud of this prestigious accolade.”
Opened in 2000, the Fazio design traverses 300 acres of deep arroyos, high desert plateaus and jaw-dropping Sea of Cortez vantage points. A challenging, yet playable golf experience that both daunts and delights players, Querencia offers harmonious transitions throughout, with natural fairway contours and subtle breaks on its immaculate putting surfaces.
The Golfweek ranking marks yet another accolade the golf course has received this year, as Golf Digest listed Querencia as one of the greatest 100 golf courses in the world.
