IRVINE, Calif. (November 15, 2016) – The winner of the Citibanamex Lorena Ochoa Invitational on Sunday (Nov. 13) recorded her second career LPGA Tour victory playing three wedges designed and manufactured by prestigious Japanese club maker Fourteen Golf.
It was the second win in less than a month for the 26-year-old Spaniard who used Fourteen Golf’s RM-21 wedges in lofts of 50, 54 and 58 degrees en route to the title. Last month she won her first LPGA event in Korea and has five consecutive top 10 finishes.
The two-time European Solheim Cup team member finished at 13-under par, two shots clear of five other competitors, shooting rounds of 67-72-68-68 for a 275 total at the Club de Golf Mexico in Mexico City. Her winner’s check was $200,000.
“Fourteen Golf congratulates the winner of the Lorena Ochoa Invitational on her second victory in less than a month on the LPGA Tour,” said Masashi Kamoda, chief operating officer of Fourteen Golf. “We are very proud that she has chosen to use our RM-21 wedges to compete against the best female players in the world and we wish her all the best in the upcoming CME Group Tour Championship .”
Earlier this year, the RM-22 wedge – the next generation of the RM-21 – was named to the 2016 Golf Digest Hot List.
