Japan-based shaft designer/manufacturer records 12 wins
CARLSBAD, Calif. (December 13, 2016) – The popularity of Nippon Shaft on the world’s major men’s golf tours continued to grow in the 2015-2016 season, with 137 players on the PGA TOUR and European Tour utilizing steel shafts created by the Japan-based golf shaft manufacturer, up from 106 last year.
Players utilizing Nippon Shaft products won 12 times, using four variations of the N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour steel shafts in their irons and one player using the Wedge 115 shaft.

Since 2009, Nippon Shaft players have recorded 64 victories on the top U.S. and European men’s tours, according to Nippon Shaft officials. Nippon Shaft now ranks second in shaft utilization on the U.S. and European tours.

Use of each of Nippon Shaft’s four variations of the N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour steel shafts also increased significantly percentage-wise year-over-year on the major men’s tours.
Use of the Tour 105 increased to 35 players from 28. The Tour 120 increased to 54 from 42. The Tour 125 increased to six players from four. The Tour 130 went up to 28 from 23. In addition, the Wedge shafts increased to 82 from 66.
An average of 25 to 35 players used Nippon Shaft on a weekly basis to compete on either the PGA TOUR or the European Tour, according to Nippon Shaft officials.
