IRVINE, Calif. (January 12, 2017) – In an event so stormy that it produced the highest 36-hole cut in Web.com Tour history, a 25-year-old player carrying two Fourteen Golf wedges yesterday (Wednesday, Jan. 11) finished in a tie for fifth in the tour’s first event of 2017.

The Mexico-born graduate of the University of Oklahoma used 52-degree and 58-degree RM-22 wedges to play the Bahamas Great Exuma Classic at Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas. He finished in a three-way tie for fifth at 4-over par with rounds of 74-71-72-75-292, earning $21,900. The weather was so windy and rainy that the cut came in at a record 11-over par and three players shot in the 90s for the first time in Web.com history.

The up-and-coming young player, who grew up in Texas, put the Fourteen Golf wedges in his bag last November, according to company officials.

“Fourteen Golf is excited that a player who recently put our wedges into competition has played so well under extremely difficult conditions,” said Masashi Kamoda, chief operating officer of Fourteen Golf. “We wish him the best as he continues to progress in his career.”

A premier designer and manufacturer of high-quality golf clubs, Fourteen Golf has been part of 70 professional victories since 2010.

The fourteengolf.com website makes it possible for golf consumers to order customized clubs online. Fourteen Golf designs and manufactures drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, irons, wedges and putters.
