Eckels brings three decades of technology and software leadership experience to private-club technology company
CINCINNATI, OH (January 23, 2017) – Clubessential, the leading technology partner for private clubs, has named Randy Eckels as the company’s new CEO and board director.
Eckels brings three decades of technology and software-leadership experience to Clubessential. Most recently he served as President of Horizon Software International, a Roper Technologies (ROP) business unit, where he led the transformation and growth of Horizon as a SaaS cloud provider to the K12, healthcare and senior living markets.
Founded in 2002, Clubessential offers a unified suite of products from front-end member facing technology to back-of-the-house software solutions. The Clubessential team is the most experienced in the industry and takes pride in providing the highest level of service in the club industry.
In 2015 and 2016, Clubessential made the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing private companies in America.
“Bringing Randy on board is a milestone event for Clubessential, given his extensive software-industry experience and proven ability to grow revenue,” said Morad Elhafed, a partner with Battery Ventures and a Clubessential board member. “We are also excited to leverage Randy’s business-development expertise, as we expect the company to actively look for acquisition targets in the months and years ahead under his leadership.”
In some of his previous roles, Eckels helped introduce new technology platforms and agile-development processes; pioneered a responsive customer-experience focus; and engaged employee talent that resulted in record customer loyalty and financial results. Prior to Horizon Software, he held a variety of leadership positions with software and telecommunication companies in the college & university, Fortune 1000 and healthcare markets.
Eckels said his previous experience would assist him in his new role as CEO of Clubessential. “I’ve enjoyed leading several transformations of entrepreneurial-founded technology companies by helping create high performance, team-based cultures that are focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences with each and every interaction,” he said.
Eckels described himself as “passionate” about building high-performance teams that deliver outstanding customer experiences through top-quality software and responsive customer service. He added that he looks forward to serving the club market and meeting Clubessential’s customers to learn more about their needs.
“The club industry is an exciting market filled with many opportunities to further leverage technology to improve members’ daily interactions and experiences with their clubs,” he said. “After reviewing the club industry, it was clear that Clubessential is the industry leader. We have a bright future building upon a prestigious customer base; talented employees who intimately understand and appreciate the club industry, and some amazing software products and applications that truly help our club customers better serve their membership.”
Eckels plans for Clubessential to foster and continue to improve on its personal touch with clients, including through new social and mobile technologies. “We will work very hard to innovate, to deliver exceptional customer experiences and to lead our industry in everything we undertake,” he said.
