Harris Kalinka, the world’s leading golf course animation company, will be showcasing its work within a VR environment at the Golf Industry Show (GIS), in Orlando, Florida, from February 7-9.
The specialist company helps golf firms and architects communicate ideas and designs through images and animations, so potential clients can see, experience, embrace and connect with the concepts.
And the UK and Latvia-based agency is now incorporating the ground-breaking Oculus Rift – which it will be demonstrating to GIS visitors on stand #1643 – into its offering so interested parties can immerse themselves fully in the virtual 3D environment of their potential course, clubhouse or real estate, as Harris Kalinka’s visualisations progress seamlessly with the technology.
The co-founder of Harris Kalinka, Andrew Harris, said: “A lot of people think that golf course visualisation is all about ‘hole flyovers’ but there is so much more we can do, such as highly produced animation showing the best parts of a project, that we like to call a ‘Hollywood-style trailer’.
“Taking it one step further, the advent of the Oculus now allows clients to actually experience what it would be like to stand on that new first tee or at the door to a villa or clubhouse. Technology continues to move apace and we’re delighted that with our team we are able to move with it.
“GIS provides a great opportunity to not only display our capabilities, but also to have a bit of fun. There are spaces in our virtual diary to be filled but if show visitors want to book in for the full experience, they’d better make it snappy. ”
San Francisco-based golf course architect Neal Meagher is an advocate of the work of specialist agency.
He said: “From my experience working with Harris Kalinka I will be looking for ways to involve them in all of my future projects. I feel the service they provide is indispensable in this age of computer graphics. The new millennial generation now coming into roles of decision-making will expect nothing less.”
Harris Kalinka’s visualisations have been used successfully to attract members, raise investment, sell off-plan, develop a design or to present an idea.
Harris Kalinka’s client list in golf includes Arnold Palmer Design Company; Robert Trent Jones II; International Design Group; Ernie Els Design; Faldo Design; Schmidt-Curley Design; Pacific Links; and VITA.
