NORTHBROOK, Ill. – Feb. 13, 2017 – The owners of The Jewel Golf Club, located along the Mississippi River bluffs in Lake City, MN, have selected KemperSports to manage the club. Recognized as one of the premier golf facilities in the state, The Jewel will look to KemperSports to implement proven sales and marketing initiatives, including increased outings and events sales. KemperSports will also introduce TrueService – a proprietary customer service training program.
Just a short drive from Rochester and the Minneapolis/St. Paul markets, The Jewel has a solid membership base and is open to the public. It will take advantage of KemperSports’ nearly 40 years of experience operating golf courses to ensure the Club is properly positioned as a must-play destination.
The Jewel Golf Club opened in 2005 with rave reviews, including being named by GOLF Magazine and Golf Digest on their Best New Courses list. Golfweek Magazine has ranked it among the top 5 golf courses in the state for the past six consecutive years. This year, Golf Advisor placed The Jewel Golf Club as the 11th best course to play in the country. The course is designed by 3-time U.S. Open winner Hale Irwin.
“We are very excited to partner with KemperSports to manage The Jewel,” said owner Tim Hasse. “Their experience in managing top-ranked public golf courses will be a true asset in terms of elevating the golf experience at our facility.”
In addition to golf, The Jewel Golf Club rounds out the experience with a 25,000-sq.-ft. clubhouse that includes an expansive golf shop, banquet facility and a full service restaurant and bar with indoor and outdoor seating.
“The Jewel Golf Club is a visually stunning golf course and a must-play in Minnesota,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “We look forward to working with the ownership group to improve the guest experience.”
The Jewel Golf Club joins The Wilderness at Fortune Bay, another top-ranked public course, as the second property in the KemperSports portfolio in the state of Minnesota.
