Further commits to the development of women’s golf and women in the workplace
by providing 150 premium-level EWGA memberships to its associates
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) has named Baird Private Wealth Management the Presenting Sponsor of the 2017 EWGA Cup series, one of the fastest growing competitive golf events for amateur women. Additionally, Baird Private Wealth Management has reinforced its commitment to developing professional women in the workplace and on the golf course by providing 150 of their associates with premium-level “Business & Birdies” EWGA memberships.
“Baird Private Wealth Management is proud to partner with EWGA, a not-for-profit organization committed to enriching the lives of women through the game of golf, and to serve as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2017 EWGA Cup series,” said Mike Schroeder, President of Baird Private Wealth Management. “This partnership reflects Baird’s long-standing tradition of giving back to the communities in which our associates live and work, as well as our strong commitment to the game of golf, which is a keen interest of many of our clients, and current and potential Baird associates.”
The EWGA Cup series, now in its seventh year, encourages women of all skill levels to compete in a friendly and fun team-based format that encourages teamwork and camaraderie. Teams are composed of eight players from various EWGA chapters who often coordinate colorful outfits with clever team names. For example, the Birdie Badgers of Madison, Wisconsin won the 2016 EWGA Cup after 36-holes of competition, split between singles and four-ball match play. The 2017 EWGA Cup series will consist of eight regional summer qualifiers, followed by the 2017 EWGA Cup Finals, to be conducted at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida, Oct. 27-28. Over 125 teams and 1,000 women are expected to participate in this year’s series.
“The EWGA Cup is one of our Association’s fastest growing events and we’re excited to have Baird Private Wealth Management as our Presenting Sponsor of the 2017 EWGA Cup series,” said EWGA Board President Hilary Tuohy. “As one of FORTUNE’s top ten “100 Best Companies to Work For”, Baird demonstrably shares our commitment to developing and promoting women both in the workplace and on the golf course. To that end, we’re delighted to partner with Baird Private Wealth Management to provide 150 of its associates with “Business & Birdies” membership to EWGA.”
EWGA prides itself on creating a welcoming atmosphere for both experienced and aspiring players alike. Its nearly 13,000 members come from all walks of life and play the game for a variety of reasons, including health and wellness, professional development and for enjoyment. Similarly, Baird prioritizes helping individuals of all backgrounds achieve their personal best. Through specialized programs like Baird Women Advisors and the Ascend Associate Resource Group, Baird offers women across the entire organization opportunities to grow and succeed.
“The EWGA is a highly-esteemed organization dedicated to connecting women globally to learn, play and enjoy golf for business and for fun,” said Kimberly Thekan, Director of Advisor Talent Strategies for Baird Private Wealth Management. “At Baird, we are committed to providing financial advice and service personalized to the needs of our women clients, as well as to making our firm the best place to work for women in wealth management.
