CARLSBAD, Calif. (Feb. 20, 2017) – Nippon Shaft placed five players in the Top 10 this Sunday, including a runner-up, at the Genesis Open at storied Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California outside Los Angeles.
The 33-year-old Augusta, Georgia native used Nippon Shaft N.S.PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 TX steel shafts in his irons en route to a second-place finish. He shot 12-under par 272 finish with rounds of 68-68-69-67.
Two Nippon Shaft players tied for fourth. The 33-year-old native of Seoul, South Korea used the N.S.PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 steel shafts in his irons to shoot 11-under par 273 for the week. He began playing Nippon Shaft in competition early this season. Also shooting 273 was the 40-year-old Tour veteran out of San Diego, who used the N.S.PRO MODUS3 Tour 105 steel shafts in his irons.
Two Nippon Shaft players, both Georgia Tech alumni, tied for eighth. The 23-year-old PGA TOUR rookie used N.S.PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 TX steel shafts in his irons and wedges to shoot 10-under par 274 for the week with rounds of 68-69-69-68. Meanwhile, playing in the final grouping on Sunday, his 29-year-old fellow Yellow Jacket shot 69-64-71-70 for the week, using N.S.PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 X and the 125 Wedge Shaft in his wedges.

Earlier this month, Nippon Shaft players finished 1-2 in the European Tour event at Dubai.
