(LONDONDERRY, NH) – Danish company ECCO – a leading manufacturer of innovative footwear – confirms that ambassador Fred Couples wore the Danish company’s famed BIOM HYBRID CLASSIC shoe en route to victory at the Chubb Classic on Sunday, claiming his 12th PGA TOUR Champions title.
Competing in the company’s multi-award-winning design, the 57-year-old World Golf Hall-of-Famer shot a final round 67 on Sunday to finish at 16-under-par for the week.
“Like for anyone, it feels great. It was a tough day, but it really feels good to play well,” said Couples. “It’s never easy to win a golf tournament. This is a good course. You have to hit a lot of good shots. I think I hit quite a few.”
The three shot victory at TwinEagles Golf Club in Naples, Florida, is Couples’ 64th win as a professional and takes him to No. 1 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings.
“As one of our longest-standing brand ambassadors, we’re always thrilled when Fred is able to add to his already unbelievably impressive record,” said Jesper Thuen, Head of Asia-Pacific and sponsorship at ECCO Golf. “He makes the game look so easy and his fluid swing is still one of the most iconic within the game.”
ECCO BIOM HYBRID CLASSIC utilizes soft yak leather HYDROMAX® treated uppers to provide superb weather and perspiration resistant properties.
