ORLANDO, Fla. (Feb. 21, 2017) – Accomplished LPGA teaching professional Cathy MacPherson, one of the top coaches in New England, is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive on Wednesday, Feb. 22 (7-9 a.m. ET), and Thursday, Feb. 23 (9-11 a.m. ET).
MacPherson, owner of Cathy MacPherson Golf at Ferncroft Country Club in Middleton, Mass., is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including The Golf Fix and School of Golf; MacPherson is making her second appearance on Morning Drive.
“I’m thrilled to be appearing on Morning Drive once again,” said MacPherson, who’s taught on the North Shore for almost 20 years. “It’s been my lifelong passion to help golfers play their very best, and I look forward to sharing some of my favorite tips and playing lessons with the viewers at home.”
A fixture on Golf for Women magazine’s Top 50 Teachers list from 2000 to 2008, MacPherson is one of only 30 golf professionals to achieve Masters Certified Golf Coach status from the Certified Golf Coaches Association, a program headed by Dr. Rick Jensen designed to provide top instructors with advanced coaching tools and strategies. She’s also been recognized as one of the “Best Teachers” in the New England Region by Golf Magazine.
An active member of the Board of Trustees for the Greater New England Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Cathy has led many golf clinics for such worthy causes as the Special Olympics, The Lupus Foundation and The MS Society. She is also a member of Toastmasters, an organization that empowers individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders. MacPherson won three Toastmasters Speech competitions this past spring and was featured in the September 2016 issue of Toastmasters International’s magazine.
