Combines forgiveness of a hybrid with the shot-shaping ability of a utility iron
IRVINE, Calif. (February 20, 2017) – Premier club designer and manufacturer Fourteen Golf today officially introduced its new HI-877 Utility Club, which combines the forgiveness of a hybrid with the shot-shaping ability of a utility iron.
Designed to take the pressure off of a golfer’s long game, the HI-877 features a sole design that has a larger center but a slimmer toe and heel, which helps keep the club moving even through the thickest lies, according to Masashi Kamoda, chief operating officer of Fourteen Golf.
“The HI-877 Utility Club provides golfers with a high trajectory and incredible forgiveness along with the ability to shape shots, but what sets it apart from similar clubs is its ability to glide effortlessly through the rough,” Kamoda said. “It’s perfect for long approach shots from any lie.” The HI-877 benefited from Fourteen Golf’s highly successful wedge design process, he added.
The HI-877’s distinctive vibrant yellow head features a thin cup face and a precision-hollow body that produce exceptional ball speeds across the face. The HI-877s are as easy to set up address as an 8-iron, Kamoda said.
The HI-877s come equipped with the FT-16i graphite shaft designed and manufactured by Fourteen Golf. The clubs come in lofts of 18, 21, and 24 degrees as well as in custom lofts of 27 and 30 degrees.
“Fourteen Golf is known for its innovative design and outstanding performance,” Kamoda said. “With the introduction of the HI-877 Utility Club, we are proud to carry on our tradition of providing golfers with the cutting edge technology and design they desire to play their best.”
