Congratulations to the winner of the PGA Tour’s Genesis Open at Riviera!
At the 2008 PGA Show, this player’s college coach said to watch out for his former college golfer, who just earned a PGA Tour card at Q School. The coach said he hits it a mile, worked with the Putting Arc in college, and predicted he would do well on tour.
How prophetic his coach was! 10 years later this player is now #1 in the world, joins Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus on the very short list of players who won a tournament every year in their first 10 years on tour, and also joins the elite company of Ben Hogan, Sam Snead and Johnny Miller as the only golfers to win at Oakmont, Riviera, and Pebble Beach. Pretty good company to keep!
8 of the top 14 finishers (and probably 10 of 14) at Riviera are past or present Putting Arc users.
Congratulations also to LPGA Players and Putting Arc users Marina Alex, Ally McDonald and Amelia Lewis for their good play a long way from home. They all competed in the ISPS Handa Australian Women’s Open in Adelaide, Australia.
Marina Alex finished T7 for her second good finish of the young year. Ally was in third place at one point in the second round and finished T30. Amelia was one of only three players to shoot a 4 under round of 69 on the very difficult final day, and she also moved up to a T30 finish.
We wish all of these lady golfers a very successful 2017.
Finally, congratulations to Miguel Angel Jimenez for his second place finish and to Rod Spittle for his tie third finish at the Champions Tours’ Chubb Classic in Naples, Florida.
8 of the top 9 finishers at the Chubb Classic are present or past Putting Arc users.
