Phoenix, Ariz, (February 23,2017)-Phoenix-based Daphne’s Headcovers is the world leader in golf novelty headcovers. Giraffes and monkeys, dogs and leprechauns are just some of the colorful characters expected to accompany LPGA players to the seventh annual Bank of Hope Founders Cup, March 14-19. The event will be held at Wildfire Golf Club at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa in Phoenix.
The Founders Cup was created in 2011 to honor the 13 original Founders of the LPGA, as well as to help continue the growth of the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Program, which has received almost $3 million from tournament proceeds to date. The full field of LPGA players will tackle a tournament course that utilizes the back nines of the Arnold Palmer and Nick Faldo courses
Daphne’s CEO Jane Spicer says, “We actively support the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Program. I must admit the Founders Cup is the only event I get teary-eyed about-it’s played in my own backyard, in the city where Daphne’s was born.”
After 39 years in business, Daphne’s imaginative designs continue to amaze and delight. Some Tour players carry more than one headcover. Top player Lydia Ko sports a pair, the Boy Monkey Made of Sockies and the Girl Monkey Made of Sockies. Michelle Wie carries the giraffe and the girl Monkey Made of Sockies hybrid cover, Alena Sharp, Canadian Olympia and local resident loves her Doodle headcover. Local favorite Cheyenne Woods is fond of the pink flamingo, Brittany Lincicome represents dog-lovers everywhere with her Rottweiler headcover. Every headcover comes with a lifetime guarantee.
Headcovers will be available to purchase at the LPGA merchandise tent and in the pro shop.
