Philadelphia, PA, February 20, 2017 – Maccabi USA will host its 22nd Annual Palm Beach Golf Tournament at The Falls Club in Lake Worth on Monday, March 20. The tournament is co-chaired by Lou Shook, of Delray Beach, FL and Maccabi USA Chairman, Bob Spivak of Philadelphia, PA.
This year’s tournament allows us the opportunity to honor the golf athletes from Florida who will represent Team USA at the 20th World Maccabiah Games in Israel this July. The golfers are Alan and Kerry Appelbaum of Boca Raton; Hannah Berman of Ponte Vedra Beach; Joseph Ende of Boca Raton; Peter Epstein of Miami Shores; Gary Freedson of Delray Beach; Cheryl Goldstein of Coral Gables; Alexa Popowitz of Boca Raton; and Julie Steinbauer of Doral.
The 22nd annual Palm Beach Golf Tournament will help fund the participation of Jewish athletes in need from the USA and around the world at the World Maccabiah Games. Their participation will help build the next generation of leadership for the Jewish community and create ‘Goodwill’ Ambassadors for the State of Israel. The 20th World Maccabiah Games will take place July 4-18, 2017 in Israel. Maccabi USA will bring a team of 1,100+ athletes who will join the 8,750 Jewish athletes from 80 countries, participating in 43 different sports.
Participation in the World Maccabiah Games is a life-changing experience. Jewish athletes from around the world gather in Israel to compete in their sport and unite as one Team. They develop relationships with their teammates and athletes from around the world that last a lifetime.
Maccabi USA builds Jewish pride through sports, producing the emotional intensity, high ideals and powerful camaraderie of competition. We connect athletes, volunteers, fans and supporters with the global Jewish community. Our athletic, educational and cultural experiences build Jewish identity, perpetuate Jewish continuity worldwide and strengthen support for the State of Israel.
Please plan to join us as we honor the members of the Maccabi USA Golf Team at our annual Golf Tournament. There is still limited space available to participate in the tournament.
