Angels Camp, CA (March 1, 2017) – A world-class line-up of junior golfers will convene at Greenhorn Creek Golf Resort in California’s Gold Country for the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Junior at Greenhorn Creek, March 31 – April 2, 2017.
Participating in this first-ever AJGA event hosted by Greenhorn Creek Golf Resort will be a field of 77 junior golfers, including 50 boys and 17 girls, ages 12-19, traveling from as far away as Kazakhstan aiming to strike gold on the Robert Trent Jones, Jr. 18-hole championship golf course.
“Greenhorn Creek is excited to have the AJGA here to Angels Camp to experience a great championship golf course,” says Allan Ramorini, Director of Golf at Greenhorn Creek Golf Resort. “These juniors are the future of golf and could possibly be on the LPGA or PGA tour one day, so it will be a fun event to come watch.”
The AJGA, based in Braselton, GA, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women aspiring to earn college golf scholarships through competitive golf. The current membership consists of more than 6,500 plus an all-star list of alumni now playing on the PGA and LPGA Tours, including the likes of Ricki Fowler, Jim Furyk, Dustin Johnson, Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, Paula Creamer, Cristie Kerr, Stacey Lewis and Brittany Lincicome.
Prior to the two-day stroke play AGJA Junior, a one-day Junior-Am Tournament will take place on Friday, March 31. The fun begins with lunch and registration at 11:30 AM and a 1:30 shotgun start followed by a reception and awards. Individual entry fee of $250 includes playing alongside a potential future Tour star, reception and a goodie bag. Team sponsor includes three Junior-Am entries for $750.
