(FARMINGTON, Pa.) – Nemacolin Woodlands Resort – the acclaimed luxury resort in the Laurel Highlands of southwestern Pennsylvania – announces Justin Collins as its new head golf professional and Ben Ulevich as the new golf course superintendent.
Collins comes to Nemacolin from the exclusive Pete Dye Golf Club in West Virginia where he was the head golf professional for five years. Previously, he was the assistant golf professional at Ohio’s Scioto Country Club as well as positions at exclusive private clubs in Ohio and Florida. A three-year co-captain of the men’s golf team at The Ohio State University, Collins is a leadership advisory staff member for Titleist.
Ulevich joins the Nemacolin team after a successful tenure as the golf course superintendent at Out Door Country Club in Pennsylvania. Ulevich was also the golf course superintendent at The Greenbrier Resort and Oglebay Resort and Conference Center, both in West Virginia. A graduate of West Liberty State College and Penn State University, Ulevich is a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and the Central Pennsylvania Golf Course Superintendents Association.
“Both Justin and Ben are invaluable additions to our team, and bring an incredible amount of expertise at elite clubs,” says Mike Jones, director of golf and recreation. “Their knowledge in their respective professions will greatly enhance the overall golf experience for our members and guests here at Nemacolin.”
Considered the top public course in Pennsylvania, Nemacolin’s Mystic Rock is a Pete Dye design sitting majestically atop the Alleghany Mountains. A former host of the PGA TOUR’s 84 Lumber Classic, it is ranked No. 40 in Golfweek’s “Best Resort Courses” list for 2017 and in the top-60 in Golf Digest’s “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses.”
Upping its ante significantly in the golf world, Nemacolin is set to open its second Pete Dye-design creation this July, Shepherd’s Rock. Poised to be a perfect companion to Mystic Rock, the 7,151-yard course will offer extraordinary golf in a spectacular setting. The rolling bucolic terrain is ideal to fully utilize Dye’s brilliant imagination in fashioning a routing sure to draw raves from both media and guests. The layout is expected to rival the highest-rated courses in the country.
Additionally, the resort’s Nemacolin Golf Academy offers an array of game improvement programming including: individual lessons, TrackMan® ball flight and V-1 Video swing analysis, one- and three-day golf schools, and one of the leading clubfitting centers on the East Coast. A commitment to growing the game also abounds, with numerous junior and family golf options.
Nemacolin also recently unveiled golf packages that include luxurious accommodations and spectacular golf on both Mystic Rock and Shepherd’s Rock. A slate of golf memberships for 2017 includes the ultra-exclusive Founders Club Membership and Full Golf Membership, designed for individuals and families.
