Vertical Groove Driver To Debut On The PGA Tour, With John Daly Competing In The Arnold Palmer Invitational

- March 15, 2017

Boston, MA … March 14, 2017 … As the Vertical Groove Driver continues to gain usage on the PGA TOUR Champions, the club is set to debut on the PGA TOUR on Thursday, March 16th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, as acclaimed long driver and two-time Major Champion John Daly will use the club during the tournament at Bay Hill Lodge & Club in Orlando, Florida.

Since joining the PGA TOUR Champions in 2016, Daly has consistently been ranked #1 in Driving Distance. Equipped with the new Vertical Groove Driver, the only golf club innovation to enter the market featuring vertical groove technology on the club face, Daly has significantly improved his accuracy off the tee in 2017.

“The Vertical Groove Driver continues to gain widespread acceptance throughout the golf industry, and it’s fantastic that John Daly will put the club in play on the PGA TOUR at the upcoming Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill,” said Jeff Barry, CEO, Vertical Groove Golf.

In addition to Daly, defending Sr. PGA Champion Rocco Mediate is also a global ambassador for Vertical Groove Golf and using the club in competition. In fact, Daly, Mediate and 3 top professionals on the PGA TOUR Champions put the Vertical Groove Driver in play at the recent Chubb Classic in Naples.

Added Barry, “The fact that John Daly, Rocco Mediate and several other top professionals are using the club in competition on the PGA TOUR Champions, truly validates the performance attributes of the driver. I can’t wait to see how the TOUR players respond to Daly’s new equipment.”

The Vertical Groove Driver conforms to the Rules of Golf, and the technology reduces spin at impact, forcing a tighter dispersion and leading to, on average up to 40% straighter ball flight and up to 10 yards further in driving distance.

The 450cc Vertical Groove Driver, which is available in both right and left handed models, is offered in 8, 9.5, 10.5 and 12 degree lofts (right) and 9.5 and 10.5 degree lofts (left), while featuring a full range of Aldila premium grade, tour-proven aftermarket NV2K series shafts as standard. The available flexes include: 45 gram L (Ladies), 50 gram A (Senior), 55 gram R (Regular), 65 gram S (Stiff) and 65 gram X (Extra-stiff). At a length of 45.5 inches, the Vertical Groove Driver provides an optimum launch angle while maximizing carry distance and ball speed for many players. It is equipped with Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips in standard, midsize and oversize models. Alternative shaft options from Fujikura, Mitsubishi and Aldila also will be available. Suggested retail price of the Vertical Groove Driver is $399.99.
