April 22nd ‘Open House’ to showcase state-of-the-art training technology, expert club fitting
(FARMINGTON, Pa.) – Nemacolin Woodlands Resort – the acclaimed luxury resort in the Laurel Highlands of southwestern Pennsylvania – announces its Golf Academy has become one of the premier teaching facilities in the U.S. while led by its new director of instruction, Eric Johnson.
Johnson, one of GOLF Magazine’s “Top 100 Teachers in America,” arrived at Nemacolin just days after his former course, Oakmont Country Club, hosted the 2016 U.S. Open. He will lead the Golf Academy’s “Open House” on Sat., April 22 (3 – 5 p.m.) with a trick shot demonstration and showcase of the cutting-edge technology available including TrackMan® ball flight, SAM Puttlab and V1 Video swing analysis.
Additionally, Callaway club fitting (9 a.m. – 1 p.m.) and PXG club fitting (1 – 5 p.m.) will be available during the day.
The resort’s professional club-fitter, Aaron Staricek, will also be on hand to discuss the value of playing the game with the proper equipment. Before recently coming to Nemacolin, Staricek attained multiple years of custom building and fitting expertise at the Taylormade Performance Lab at TPC Sawgrass, L.O.F.T Golf at PGA National Resort & Spa and Jupiter Hills Club.
The Nemacolin Golf Academy offers an array of game improvement programming including individual lessons as well as one-, two- and three-day golf schools. The Open House will additionally feature light appetizers and beverages. For more information, please call 724.329.6111. Reservations are requested.

With the July 12 opening of its dramatic new Shepherd’s Rock layout, the resort will offer play on two Pete Dye-designed masterpieces. Shepherd’s Rock will join the lauded Mystic Rock course to offer 36 holes of extraordinary golf in a spectacular setting. The layout is expected to rival the highest-rated courses in the country, with a picturesque finishing hole sure to provide lasting memories.
