Both charity tournaments will utilize the 18Birdies Tournament+ Scoring solution

OAKLAND, Calif., Mar. 17, 2017 – Mobile golf technology startup, 18Birdies, has announced that it will be the official scoring partner of both the 2017 Murray Bros. Caddyshack and the Hootie and the Blowfish Monday After the Masters charity golf tournaments. Both events will take advantage of the live scoring and live leaderboards that 18Birdies Tournament+ Scoring provides. In addition, family and friends will be able to follow the action live through the 18Birdies’ Gallery feature, which provides a link to live leaderboards for those who aren’t in attendance.

Started in 2001 by actor and comedian, Bill Murray, and his five brothers, this year’s Murray Bros. Caddyshack charity tournament takes place March 22-24 at the King and Bear course in St. Augustine, FL. The annual event was formed with the mission to raise money to provide medical services, educational programs, lifesaving equipment, and fundraising opportunities to better the lives in communities across the country.

“I’m excited to finally bring live scoring to our tournament,” said Murray Bros. Caddyshack tournament director, Chris Seely. “Being able to keep an eye on the sandbaggers with the app will be comical.”

Started in 1994 by the band, Hootie & the Blowfish, the “MAM” has turned into one of the top Celebrity Pro-Ams in the country and will take place April 8-10 at the Barefoot-Dye Course in North Myrtle Beach, SC. The annual tournament raises funds for children’s educational programs and the South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation.

“Including live scoring will really enhance our tournament,” said Monday After the Masters tournament director, Paul Graham. “With all the tour players playing in the event, it ties right into the professional look and feel of our event.”
