ORLANDO, Fla. (March 21, 2017) – Celebrated Austin-area coach Brech Spradley, one of Golf Digest’s “Best Teachers” in the state of Texas four years running, is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor this week on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive, March 22 and 23.
The popular daily morning show will air live, extended versions this week to coincide with the PGA Tour’s World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play. Morning Drive on Wednesday will air from 7-11 a.m. ET, with Thursday’s telecast from 7-10:30 a.m. ET.
Spradley, PGA Director of Instruction at Barton Creek Golf Academy in Austin, Texas, is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including The Golf Fix and School of Golf; Spradley is making his second appearance on Morning Drive.
“I’m very excited to be back on Morning Drive, especially with the WGC Match Play being held in Austin again this week,” said Spradley. “It’s an honor to represent the Austin community, and I look forward to sharing my favorite tips and lessons with all of the viewers at home.”
The former lead instructor for the Chuck Cook Golf Academy, Spradley has received several accolades in his 20-plus years’ coaching career. Most recently, he was named a 2016 Future Champions Golf (FCG) Top 50 Elite Junior Golf Coach, and in 2015 was recognized as the Southern Texas PGA Section (STPGA) Harvey Penick Teacher of the Year for his overall excellence in golf instruction and performance as a golf professional. Previous winners of the prestigious award, named after the legendary coach and World Golf Hall of Famer, include Cook, Charlie Epps, Dick Harmon, Jim Hardy and Kevin Kirk.
Known for his work with elite juniors and collegiate players, Spradley’s students earned scholarships at such top-flight university programs as Wake Forest, Texas, Arizona, Arkansas and Texas Tech. His students have been ranked as high as No. 1 and 2 in the state of Texas, as well as Top 10 in the country in the AJGA Polo Rankings.
