PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C., March 22, 2017 – Named two of Golf Magazine’s ‘Top 100 Courses You Can Play,’ Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and True Blue Golf Club will host the 2017 Palmetto High School Golf Championship April 13-15, 2017.
For 18 years, the Palmetto Championship has attracted the nation’s best teams to play in the competitive 54-hole tournament. The championship has featured future PGA Tour pros and countless state champions and continues to provide a unique team-building experience, drawing national media year after year.
The 19th annual championship is available to any spring season high school golf team that’s home state has approved sanctioning through the National High School Federation. Results will be posted on the GolfStat website, which attracts many nationwide college coaches. Daily scores will be available each evening at PalmettoGolfChampionship.com.
With True Blue and Caledonia as host courses, each participant will experience the beautiful and challenging courses that are two of America’s greatest layouts. True Blue and Caledonia have also been awarded Golfweek’s ‘Best Modern Courses’ and Golf Digest’s ‘Top 100 Public Courses in America.’
The event kicks off Wednesday, April 12, with team registration at the True Blue Clubhouse, where teams and coaches will receive tournament information and gift bags. Teams will tee off Thursday, April 13 at True Blue and rounds will follow on Friday and Saturday. Players will have the chance to play both of the impressive courses.
As a thank-you for participating in the tournament, local properties have offered discounted rates for players. True Blue Villas is offering two and three-bedroom villas so players and families can kick back and relax after a long day on the course. The villas feature fully equipped kitchens, multiple TVs and private balconies or patios with spectacular views of Pawleys Island.
