NEW YORK, NY – (03/24/17) The 7th Annual Summit Golf Brands Pro-Member Invitational (aka “The Summit”) was held this week at the prestigious Pebble Beach Resort with a record 23 teams from 12 states participating in the event.
The Summit includes 1 round of golf at Spanish Bay, Pebble Beach, and Spyglass Hill. Evening activities consist of a par 3 competition at the Peter Hay and a unique 9-hole putting contest at the Pebble Beach putting green. Additionally, all participants enjoy a 4 night stay at The Lodge and receive an assortment of uniquely embroidered Fairway & Green, Zero Restriction and B. Draddy apparel each day of the competition.
In addition to other top clubs that participated in this year’s event, Summit Golf Brands was particularly honored to have a large turnout from their Advisory Board Members including Lee Stroever (Kiawah Island River Course), Dylan Thew (Kiawah Island Cassique Course), Mike Gilmore (Winged Foot), Sean Quinlivan (Piping Rock), Sean Farren (The Creek Club), and Tom Mackey (Ekwonak CC).
The winners were announced Wednesday night at the awards dinners held at The Beach Club along with closing remarks from Summit Golf Brands Head Creative Designer, Billy Draddy, and EVP of Pebble Beach Company, RJ Harper. Awards were presented for the 3 divisions at the event- Net/Gross, Gross/Gross, and Professional Winner. The winner of the Net/Gross division was the National Golf Links team (Jim Morris, Jonathon Marsio, Nick Coleman, Gerrit Kocks). The winner of the Gross/Gross division was the Dallas National team (Britt Patton, Eric Jones, Shawn Cantrell, Michael Nadeau) with Britt Patton, Dallas National Head Professional, also winning the individual professional competition.
Summit Golf Brands President and CEO, Chad Delp, commented on the week, “This event grows in popularity every year and, without question, this was the most successful SGB Pro-Member Invitational ever held. If there is a better steward of the game of golf than RJ, I have never met them. The comments he made both to the audience and to our table throughout dinner provided an experience none of us will ever forget and, more importantly, we cannot wait to see him again at next year’s event!”
