(DULUTH, MN.) – Billy Casper Golf (BCG) – the highly respected and innovative manager of golf courses, country clubs and resorts – has selected Mike Bender as General Manager of Duluth Golf.
Duluth Golf is home to 54 scenic holes along the Minnesota coastline of Lake Superior. The property features two picturesque, 27-hole courses: Enger Park and Lester Park. The two layouts host more than 180 families with innovative youth golf programs, and serve nearly 1,100 golfers during weekly league play.
Mike Bender brings nearly two decades of strategic leadership experience to Duluth Golf, most recently as Head Golf Professional and General Manager at BCG-managed Tri-Mountain Golf Course, in Ridgefield, WA. Bender looks forward to returning with his family to Minnesota, as he previously held the Head Golf Professional position at Valley View Golf Course in Belle Plaine, MN, and Assistant Golf Professional position at Minnesota Valley Country Club in Bloomington, MN.

Bender has been a member of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America for more than a decade. In his new role, he will work with BCG regional and national teams to guide Duluth Golf property maintenance, staffing and training, clubhouse activities, food and beverage, merchandising, golf instruction and programming to benefit golfer experiences and rounds played.

Opened in 1932, Lester Park’s classic layout is set alongside the Lester River and meanders through open expanses and densely wooded areas. At 3,182 and 3,189 yards, respectively, the par-36, “Front 9” and “Back 9” courses present golfers with generous fairways, exciting elevation changes and gently undulated greens. The “Lake 9” course was added in 1985 and offers a longer and more challenging layout at 3,417 yards.
Both Enger Park and Lester Park offer full driving ranges and chipping and putting greens for players to improve their game. Professional instruction is also available at both locations.
