Top-ranked Mystic Rock Course welcomes golfers beginning March 31
(FARMINGTON, Pa.) – Nemacolin Woodlands Resort – the acclaimed luxury resort in the Laurel Highlands of southwestern Pennsylvania – announces its 2017 golf season will kick-off on March 31 with the opening of its lauded Mystic Rock course.
Designed by World Golf Hall of Fame architect Pete Dye, Mystic Rock sits high atop the Pennsylvania Alleghenies and spans acres of the scenic Laurel Highlands. Offering championship golf in a spectacular setting, it was recently ranked No. 40 in the U.S. on Golfweek’s “Best Resort Courses” list and was the host venue of the PGA TOUR’s 84 Lumber Classic from 2003-2006. The layout is also No. 1 in Golfweek’s “Best Golf Courses You Can Play in Pennsylvania.”
On July 12, the 7,151-yard Pete Dye and Tim Liddy-designed Shepherd’s Rock course will join Mystic Rock to give Nemacolin 36 holes of world-class golf. The rolling bucolic terrain proved ideal in fashioning a routing sure to draw raves from both media and guests. It is expected to rival the highest-rated courses in the country, with a picturesque finishing hole sure to provide lasting memories.
“We’re excited the opening of the 2017 season is upon us, as this will be a standout year for Nemacolin,” says Mike Jones, director of golf and recreation. “With two extraordinary courses, as well as world-class accommodations and amenities, we’ll secure our spot as one of the premier golf destinations in the U.S.”
From March 31 – July 1, the resort is offering its Unlimited Golf Package featuring luxurious overnight accommodations and unlimited rounds at the best available rate (per person, per day) on Mystic Rock. Also beginning March 31, Nemacolin’s season-long Stay & Play Golf Package includes overnight accommodations and a round of golf on Mystic Rock or Shepherd’s Rock after July 12.
The resort’s premium “Double Dose of Dye” getaway will feature two-nights’ luxury accommodations and a round of golf on each of its extraordinary layouts from July 12 until the end of the golf season.
All Nemacolin golf packages include cart fees, forecaddie fees (gratuity extra), and locker room and range usage. A two-night minimum may be required and seven-day advance reservations are requested. Other restrictions and fees may apply. A $35 resort fee (per room, per day) is additional.
In addition to extraordinary courses, the Nemacolin Golf Academy offers an array of game improvement programming with Golf Digest “Top 100 Teacher,” PGA Professional Eric Johnson, including: individual lessons, TrackMan® Golf Radar Solution, SAM Putt Lab, V1 Video System, BodiTracks, one-, two- and three-day golf schools, and one of the leading club-fitting centers on the East Coast.
