LAKE MARY, FL – (April 12, 2017) – The International Network of Golf has chosen the five presenters in its’ is new speaking concept called ING Talks at the 27th Annual ING Spring Conference May 21-24 at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, FL.
The ING Spring Conference is the annual gathering of golf media and industry executives, and is conducted by the non-profit, media-based International Network of Golf. Anyone in the golf industry or media is eligible to attend.
ING Talks is structured similarly to TED Talks, a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks of 18 minutes or less. But ING Talks has a narrower focus on subject matter. The objective is to provide conference attendees (media and industry leaders) with helpful information they can utilize in their own businesses and careers.
“This new program is the true essence of ING, whose members come together to help each other flourish in the golf industry,” said ING Executive Director Mike Jamison. “ING is about information sharing, education, product exposure and relationship building.”
The ING Conference Committee and ING Staff reviewed all the proposals that came in and determined that the following subjects for ING Talks at the conference:
Making Golf Social…Social Media That Is – Presenter: Steve Ryan, Founder & CEO, RyTech, LLC. Ryan will explore the social media networks available today and discuss tips and tricks for increasing exposure and engagement on social media.
You Are A Brand. Now Let’s Make Sure It’s The Right One – Presenter: Rob Camper, Founder & CEO, GolfObssessed.Com. Camper will discuss the difference between a brand and commodity, and offer several laws of branding.
The Essential Laws Of Learning – Presenter: Dr. Tom Ferraro. The average golfer approaches game improvement blindly and without any understanding of how to learn. Ferraro will review the laws of learning, reviewing how some of the greats worked on their games.
User Demand For A More Visual Experience – Presenter: Joe Genovesi. Creative Director, Golf Marketing Services. This presentation covers the importance of Visual Impact (Photos, Videos, Infographics) and Branded Content. Genovesi will teach attendees how to avoid khaki in their golf marketing strategies, a key discussion as marketing has transitioned from print to digital.
Teeing Up A New Mindset – Presenter: Seth Saunders, Elevated Worldwide. Finding success within the golf industry comes when people allow themselves to create an environment where real goals are set and there is a need to stretch to achieve those goals. Saunders will offer tips to change mindset.
The ING Talks sessions will take place throughout the conference schedule. Along with the new ING Talks concept, the conference will feature a full schedule of networking and educational events, including the popular One-On-One Appointment Show, where exhibitors conduct a series of 15-minute meetings with media members and attendees of their choice. Also on the schedule:
• DEMO LAB: This is a wonderful opportunity for attendees to test the latest golf equipment and training aids on the practice range and green.
• EDUCATION: The theme of this year’s educational seminars and workshops is “Golf: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow.” Sessions include Marketing & PR, Social Media Marketing, and Golf In The Future. Guest speakers include short-game guru Dave Pelz and World Golf Foundation CEO Steve Mona.
• GOLF: The WAGT National Qualifier on the Slammer & Squire course at the World Golf Village. This individual stroke play net competition will be divided into five flights. Winners of those flights will earn complimentary entry and accommodations in the World Amateur Golfers Tour National Championship in August at ChampionsGate Resort.
One of the five ING qualifiers in 2016, Jim Smith, won his flight in the National Championship and went on to represent the USA in the World Championship in South Africa, expenses paid, where he finished third.
Also, the 10th Annual Durland Cup team scramble will take place on the Slammer & Squire on Wednesday.
• NETWORKING: Several networking sessions are planned, including the Opening Night Welcome Reception and the Tuesday Night Banquet.
