(April 14, 2017) Anaheim, CA – HOUSE OF FORGED® golf shafts, manufactured exclusively in California by MATRIX® at their R & D facility in the Anaheim Canyon Center for Advanced Technologies, have dominated long drive competition over the past ten years. HOUSE OF FORGED shafts have been used to win four Open Division World Long-Drive Championships, and during this period of time more competitors have used their shafts to make the Final Eight/TV Finals than any other golf shaft company.
HOUSE OF FORGED shafts are off to a fast start in 2017 long-drive competition with Ben Tuaone of West Jordan, UT using a House of Forged “Platinum” long-drive shaft in his Callaway® driver to get the victory at the first event on the GOLF CHANNEL’S® long-drive tour at the ENDLESS SUMMER INVITATIONAL in Huntington Beach, California. Ben is no stranger to long-drive, having previously taken a Second Place finish at the world championships. This victory was followed by a second win for House of Forged shafts on April 1 when Jeff Gavin of Stoney Creek, Ontario won the 2017 BUILD Indoor Long-Drive Championship using a House of Forged prototype “Code Red” shaft. This wasn’t Jeff’s first victory, as he is a former Senior Division Champion, while also having made the TV Final Eight of the Open Division on multiple occasions.
Robert Kent, the Vice-President of House of Forged, offered the following comments after these victories, “We are honored that competitors like Ben and Jeff choose to use our shafts, which demonstrate their superiority at the highest levels of competition. These venues allow us to compete and beat some of the largest golf shaft companies in the world. We consider ourselves blessed to have the support of MATRIX®, whom many consider to be the Rolls Royce of golf shaft companies.
This year the GOLF CHANNEL will offer enhanced live television viewing of long-drive competition with three live events scheduled to be televised over the summer months concluding with the world championships at the WINSTAR WORLD CASINO in Thackerville, Oklahoma in late August.
