BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Aerotech Golf, maker of the No. 1 graphite iron shafts in golf, landed Top 10 money on the PGA Champions and LPGA Tours this weekend. SteelFiber i95 and i110 graphite iron shafts scored two third-place positions and a T6 at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic on the Champions Tour while the J108 graphite iron shafts marked a T7 at the Lotte Championship on the LPGA Tour.
Playing SteelFiber i95 shafts in his irons, the eight-time PGA Tour champion and nine-time winner on the Champions Tour scored a third-place tie at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic. Meanwhile, players with SteelFiber i110 shafts also took home T3 and T6 money. On the LPGA Tour, the 21-year-old winner of the 2016 Rolex Player of the Year Award, 2016 Race to the CME Globe title and the 2016 LPGA Money Title played SteelFiber J108 graphite iron shafts for a T7 finish at the Lotte Championship.
“Every week, we’re seeing more and more professional golfers switch to playing SteelFiber and I’m a firm believer its all about performance,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “Unlike traditional steel shafts which have basically remained unchanged for more than 80 years, the innovative SteelFiber technology is a game changer. SteelFiber delivers stability and increases distance, while simultaneously reducing the risk of injury and decreasing player fatigue. This is a winning combination for pros as well as amateur players, and greater performance simply makes the game more enjoyable.”
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
For the 2016 season, SteelFiber shafts delivered 20 wins on pro tours around the world as well as won the coveted CME Race for the Globe Trophy and 2016 Money Title on the LPGA Tour. Players with SteelFiber shafts routinely rank high on the PGA Money List, Official World Golf Rankings and the FedEx Cup Season Points. In 2013, for example, SteelFiber players ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points and ended overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List. SteelFiber shafts won the highly prized FedEx Cup in 2012.
