(RESTON, VA) – Billy Casper Golf (BCG) – the highly respected and innovative manager of golf courses, country clubs and resorts – has earned a five-year contract extension with Ocala Golf Club.
The City Council of Ocala unanimously approved the BCG management contract extension – citing the positive impact that BCG has had on club operations, course maintenance, customer experience, and golf participation.
“The City of Ocala recognizes the benefit the golf course provides to our community,” said Kathy Crile, Recreation and Parks Director for the City of Ocala. “We believe our continued partnership with Billy Casper Golf will ensure Ocala Golf Club maintains its reputation as a top Florida golf destination.”
BCG took over operations of the city-owned municipal course in 2012, and in Fall 2015 oversaw its six-figure renovation. The putting surfaces were transitioned to Tif-Eagle Bermuda – offering higher drought resistance and consistent seasonal playability – and the course’s 34 bunkers were revamped.
“Our agronomy team has done an impressive job developing consistent course conditions at Ocala,” said Tony Cianci, BCG Senior Vice President of Operations. “We look forward to continuing to provide a best-in-class golf experience for the Ocala community.”
Earlier this year, Ocala Golf Club hosted the 10th Annual Moot Thomas Invitational. The field for the popular amateur tournament included some of the most accomplished amateur golfers from across the country.
