On Monday, May 15th, the South Florida PGA Southwest Chapter conducted their Annual Spring Meeting and Awards Presentation at Pelican Sound Golf and River Club. Over 250 members and apprentices gathered together to recognize the outstanding work of their fellow peers and receive a report on all Chapter business.

During the meeting Southwest Chapter President, Kevin Kuehl, PGA presented five local organizations with grants to assist with their programming. Each year the Chapter supports local organizations as a way of giving back to the local community. In addition to the charitable gifts awarded, twelve high school students received scholarship grants to assist with their college education.

Special thanks to the staff at Pelican Sound Golf and River Club for all their support and generosity in hosting this event.

Award Recipients include:

Golf Professional of the Year: Chris Sheehan, PGA

Teacher of the Year: Dennis Meyer, PGA

Horton Smith Award: Joseph Groch, PGA

Henry Watkins Award: Greg Hardwig

Bill Strausbaugh Award: Thomas Wildenhaus, PGA

Junior Golf Leader Award: Thomas Metzger, PGA

Jeremy New Assistant Golf Professional of the Year: Jordan Burke, PGA

Merchandiser of the Year – Public Facility: Joshua Ross, PGA

Merchandiser of the Year – Resort Facility: Charles Lostracco, PGA

Merchandiser of the Year – Private Facility: Philip Arrowsmith, PGA

Player of the Year: Justin McCarraher, PGA

Senior Player of the Year: Timothy Miller, PGA

Scholarship Recipients include:

Brendan Fieger – Barron Collier High School
