Calgary, Alberta, Canada – TLink Golf, creators of the world’s lightest GPS golf watch and activity tracker, recently announced the addition of live round streaming to their app. They have swiftly followed that up with another new feature for their users; fitness leaderboards!
Fitness is already a big part of the TLink app and wearable. Users can set daily fitness goals and track their steps, calories, distance walked and time spent active. For TLink, fitness and golf have always gone hand in hand and they want to do everything possible to support an active lifestyle on and off the course. Including a fitness leaderboard was a logical next step.
Golfers will be able to compare steps taken on a daily, weekly and monthly basis with others in the TLink community. TLink CTO Stefan Radeta believes that “Most people are competitive by nature, they want to see what other people are doing and beat it, that’s the idea behind the fitness leaderboard”. And TLink members seem to agree. When asked how he felt about it, user Paul Power stated that “It has definitely made me more active, I have managed to be on the top of the all-time leaderboard for a while now and I do not intend to lose my spot anytime soon”. This is the response TLink hoped their new feature would receive, promoting competition among their users to build a stronger community.
About TLINK GOLF:
TLINK GOLF, headquartered in Calgary, Canada, was founded by Derek Rucki and Stefan Radeta in 2013. The duo developed a $99 GPS watch that displays a golfer’s distance to all points on the golf course while tracking daily fitness activity. The Bluetooth watch works by syncing with a smartphone app that has over 35,000 golf courses available; golfers pair the watch with the app, allowing them to put their smartphones away and read the distances solely using the watch. Players can track their score, putts, greens in regulation, and fairways hit right from the watch.
Rucki was a top ranked junior golfer who observed the GPS golf watch trend firsthand while playing in golf tournaments. However; most of these GPS golf watches are expensive costing from $200 to $500. His vision was keen, the company would produce a GPS golf watch which would retail at $99. This price point would be a TLINK exclusive.
TLINK has been in the marketplace since 2015. In that short period, the company has gained tens of thousands of incredible golfers in the TLINK GOLF community who have used the TILINK GPS golf watch and activity tracker. Open dialog with the TLINK GOLF community has helped with their development team with upgrades and new features to be announced leading up to the show.
