CARLSBAD, Calif. (May 30, 2017) – The native South Carolinian who used Nippon Shaft N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 TX-flex steel shafts in his irons and N.S.PRO MODUS” Wedge 125 steel shafts in his wedges won last week’s PGA TOUR event at venerable Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

Meanwhile, the champion of the LPGA Volvik Championship at Travis Pointe Country Club in Ann Arbor, Michigan used Nippon Shaft N.S.PRO 950 GH to shoot 19-under par with rounds of 68-67-66-68-269 to win by one stroke. She earned $195,000 for the victory. The victory was the seventh for the 2016 Women’s Bronze Medalist at the Rio Olympics.

It was the second PGA TOUR victory for the 33-year-old veteran who shot 10-under par with rounds of 67-67-70-66-270 for the week. On his back nine, he made four birdies, one bogey, and a clutch par putt on the 18th hole to secure a one-stroke victory and avoid a playoff. He earned $1.24 million for the victory.

“Nippon Shaft would like to congratulate a player known as one of the Tour’s top ball strikers on his victory at a venue where the great Ben Hogan won five times,” said Hiro Fukuda, Sales and Marketing for Nippon Shaft. “And we would like to congratulate an LPGA player who once again has proven herself to be among the top performers on the premier women’s circuit. We are proud that both trust our products to compete at the highest level of golf in the world.”

Earlier this month, the Colonial champion was part of a two-man team that finished runner up at New Orleans after he forced a Monday playoff with a dramatic chip-in on the 18th hole.

The popularity of Nippon Shaft on the world’s major men’s tours continues to grow with over 140 players on the PGA TOUR and European Tour utilizing steel shafts created by the Japan-based golf shaft manufacturer. Players utilizing Nippon Shaft’s MODUS” products won six times so far this season, including in Dubai, Augusta, Bay Hill and China.

Nippon Shaft continues to be the preferred shaft on the LPGA Tour, with several players having recorded victories on the world’s predominant women’s pro circuit.

Over the years, Nippon Shaft recorded hundreds of victories on professional golf tours worldwide, as the best players in the world increasingly chose to install in their irons steel shafts manufactured in Japan to unparalleled quality standards.
