ORLANDO, Fla. (May 30, 2017) – Accomplished PGA teaching professional Chris George, the No. 2 teacher in Golf Digest’s most recent rankings of the “Best Teachers in Your State”, is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive on Wednesday, May 31, and Thursday, June 1.
The popular daily morning show will air from 7-9 a.m. ET both days.
George, Head of Instruction at the Golf Academy at Kingsmill Resort in historic Williamsburg, Va., is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, also including The Golf Fix and School of Golf; George is making his second appearance on Morning Drive.
“I’m very excited to be back on Morning Drive,” said George, the 201o Middle Atlantic PGA Section Teacher of the Year. “It’s been my lifelong passion to help golfers play their best, and I look forward to sharing some of my favorite tips and playing lessons with the viewers at home.”
A native of Richmond, Va., George was recognized as one of the top club-fitters in the northeast region by TaylorMade in 2013 and is a former U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Kids Teacher (Class of 2008; Honorable Mention in 2009 and ’12). George has served as the Director of Instruction for the Kingsmill Resort since 2003. The popular resort on the banks of the James River recently hosted the LPGA Tour’s Kingsmill Championship Presented by JTBC, won by Lexi Thompson.
As a Golf Channel Academy coach, George continues to teach the way he knows best. The underlying philosophy of Golf Channel Academy is that the best golf “teaching” is done through “coaching” – that is, an on-going relationship between player and teacher devoted to long-lasting improvement.
