Leawood, Kansas (June 8, 2017) – On June 1st, Ironhorse Golf Club unveiled a new 5,400 square-foot banquet and meeting space called Vista 154. Vista 154 is located next to the club’s existing clubhouse and is the perfect venue for weddings, receptions and social gatherings.
Vista 154, named after its view of the surrounding area and address near 154 Street, overlooks Ironhorse Golf Club’s picturesque 2nd hole, has seating for up to 225 guests and features a beautiful interior fireplace. The meeting space is also equipped with state-of-the-art audio visual equipment. Leawood residents (those with a Leawood home address) are eligible for facility rental discounts.
“As a facility operator, Troon is very fortunate to work with an owner like the City of Leawood,” said Troy Newport, general manager, Ironhorse Golf Club and Vista 154. “The City of Leawood is committed to providing great golf, great events as well as growing the game and business of golf. This expansion puts Ironhorse Golf Club in a position to compete for prominent golf events, wedding, business and social events in a crowded market. Plus, the view from the new Vista 154 deck is terrific!”
In addition to Vista 154 opening, the club also recently completed a course-wide bunker renovation project. Every bunker on the course received a new liner and new white sand. The contrast between the white sand bunkers and emerald green fairways gives the course a new look and feel.
“This new event space has plenty of parking and is separate from the golf club’s grill and post-golf activities, so multiple events can be going on at the same time,” said City of Leawood Director of Parks and Recreation Chris Claxton. “At Ironhorse, we’ve upgraded our product both on and off the course. The City does a good job of taking care of what it has and a good job of planning.”
Since opening in 1995, Ironhorse Golf Club has been recognized as one of the top golf facilities in Kansas by Golf World magazine, Golf Advisor, Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine. The Michael Hurdzan-designed course is the only Troon-managed facility in the Kansas City metro area.
