BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Aerotech Golf, maker of the No. 1 graphite iron shafts in golf, chalked up wins at the Manulife LPGA Classic on the LPGA Tour as well as at the Principal Charity Classic on the Champions Tour. Aerotech Golf graphite iron shafts remain the No. 1 graphite iron shafts on the PGA, LPGA and Champions Tours.
The young pro who won the 2016 Rolex Player of the Year Award, 2016 Race to the CME Globe title and the 2016 Money Title appears to be on her way to possible repeat this year. Playing Aerotech’s J108 graphite shafts in her irons, the 21-year-old Bangkok-born pro won the Manulife LPGA Classic, shooting 67-70-65-69 17-under par. She is currently No. 1 on the LPGA Money List and leading the CME Globe points and Rolex Rankings. The SteelFiber J-series is a private label iron shaft specifically developed for Aerotech Golf distributor and clubfitter Big Fish Golf of Singapore. SteelFiber i80 graphite irons shafts also grabbed a T7 finish at the event.
Meanwhile on the Champions Tour, a 29-year veteran won Principal Charity Classic this weekend playing a SteelFiber i110 in his hybrid club. He finished at 14-under 202 for his first victory on the Champions Tour.
“It’s not everyday we double up on pro tour wins in one weekend, so we’re obviously very excited,” says Aerotech Golf President Chris Hilleary. “Aerotech Golf’s graphite iron shafts deliver game-changing innovation that provide players with unique performance benefits unlike any other shaft in golf. Not only do our shafts provide stability and shot consistency, but they deliver greater vibration dampening, reduce player fatigue, and increase clubhead speed and ball distance. Quite simply, that’s why they are the No. 1 graphite iron shafts in golf.”
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
Last season, SteelFiber shafts delivered 20 wins on pro tours around the world as well as won the coveted CME Race for the Globe Trophy and 2016 Money Title on the LPGA Tour. Players with SteelFiber shafts routinely rank high on the PGA Money List, Official World Golf Rankings and the FedEx Cup Season Points. In 2013, for example, SteelFiber players ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points and ended overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List. SteelFiber shafts won the highly prized FedEx Cup in 2012.
