18Birdies to serve as official live scoring app for the event’s pro-am
OAKLAND, Calif., June 26, 2017 – Mobile golf startup, 18Birdies, has announced a partnership with this year’s Web.com Ellie Mae Classic that will bring live scoring to its Monday and Wednesday Pro-Ams. This year’s tournament takes place between July 31 – August 6 at TPC Stonebrae in Hayward, CA with the Warriors Community Foundation serving as the main charitable beneficiary. In addition, proceeds from the Ellie Mae Classic will help fund the First Tee of the East Bay, the NCGA Youth on Course Collegiate Scholarship and Habitat for Humanity.
Players in both Pro-Ams will be using the 18Birdies Tournament+ Scoring platform to keep track of scores in real-time through the 18Birdies app and will be able to follow the rest of the tournament field with an in-app live leaderboard. Friends and family will also be able to follow along live by entering a custom gallery code into the app.
“We’re excited to bring live scoring to our Pro-Am,” said tournament director, Trish Gregovich. “It’s going to be a great experience for players to have access to a live leaderboard right from their phone and be able to follow along and interact with the rest of the tournament field during the round.”
18Birdies Tournament+ Scoring software is already being used to run several notable charity and pro-am events in 2017 including Monday After the Master’s, the Murray Bros Caddyshack Golf Tournament, the Workday Silicon Valley Challenge, the Irie Weekend Celebrity Golf Tournament and all Els for Autism Golf Challenge events in the U.S.
18Birdies Tournament+ Scoring software allows tournament organizers to easily create and manage full-field tournaments while providing a socially interactive experience and in-app live leaderboards. Tournament+ Scoring supports multiple formats including Individual Stroke Play, Stableford, Scramble and Best Ball.
