Registrations approaching one thousand in first three months
Ridgefield, CT June 27, 2017 – More than 800 junior golfers and 150 college golf coaches nationwide are now connecting on the Junior Golf Hub (JGH), www.juniorgolfhub.com, an online community for junior golfers with playing aspirations in college. In addition, more than 900 parents of junior golfers are registered on JGH. The numbers continue to rise since the late March launch of JGH, a first of its kind service for junior golfers, parents and college coaches.
The JGH web site allows aspiring college golfers to create a free golf and academic profile which is searchable by college golf coaches. Juniors can then “find and follow” college programs of interest on the “Hub.” College coaches can showcase their programs and track players they are interested in.
“We are very excited about the progress of the Junior Golf Hub and what it’s doing to help juniors further their golf careers by finding the best schools and golf programs for them,” said Roger Knick, founder of the Junior Golf Hub and a PGA professional. “College golf coaches are equally enthusiastic about the opportunity to efficiently locate players for their programs and follow their progress from an early age (13 and over).”
“The Hub’s” unique interactive technology allows junior golfers the opportunity to create their own online profile, designed with the help of college coaches. These profiles are easily searchable by college golf coaches in the United States. In addition, The Hub offers a comprehensive database and search capability covering every college golf program in the United States. Junior golfers can “follow” colleges they are interested in and coaches can track top talent on the site. The site is currently in a unique free trial window with no cost to use the extensive functionality.
The Junior Golf Hub plans to offer juniors specific areas of coaching that go well beyond a typical golf site. Starting this fall, “The Hub” plans to offer instruction segments focusing on the roadmap to college golf, including such important topics as finding and preparing for important tournaments, practice and workout advice, how to evaluate your skill level and more. JGH is also currently working on extensive new functionality including a tournament finder and tournament calendar where golfers can organize their playing schedule for any given year. In addition, “The Hub” plans to include advice for parents of aspiring college golfers.
Knick, who founded Golf Performance Center in Ridgefield, CT eleven years ago and has helped 100+ juniors achieve their aspirations of a college golf career, has essentially taken key aspects from what he has done at the Center and created Junior Golf Hub to assist juniors worldwide in achieving their dreams of playing college golf.
“We are thrilled with the initial results and the great momentum” added Greg Flynn, President of the Junior Golf Hub. “We have received very positive feedback from players, coaches and parents. They find Junior Golf Hub user friendly and a great way to achieve their objectives of making great connections. We look forward to continuing to enhance our offerings and delivering an exceptional product to our members.
The Junior Golf Hub is an Official Partner of the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), and supports events like the AJGA Preview Series where “The Hub” was introduced to junior golfers in late March. “The Hub” supports other junior golf programs including the Hurricane Tour as well as several PGA of America Sections and State Golf Association junior events. Among the events sponsored by The Junior Golf Hub are the IMG Junior World Championships, the Junior Golf Hub Championship, the New York and New Hampshire State Junior, the Greater New England Classic, the North Texas PGA All-American Tour Points Challenge and several others.
